MORE Future Of Sex Goodness!
I've had a lot - to put it mildly - writing gigs over the years but working with Future Of Sex is definitely at the top of the list!
In fact I've just had (count 'em) four new pies up at the amazing site. Here are teasers for them.
- and you can always track what I'm doing for them by clicking here.
Robotic Lovers and Artificial Companions: Future Sexualities Part 1
Humans have always found a wide range of things, to put it politely, to be alluring. It’s easy to imagine some early hominid looking at the very first wheel and thinking hello there, sexy…
Flippancy aside, with the arrival of groundbreaking technological innovations, we’re also seeing the emergence of new forms of sexual arousal—not to mention hints of what in the future may humans may find exciting.
And, as we’ll see, the growing acceptance of no excitement at all.
Gender Diversity and Asexuality: Future Sexualities Part 2
In Robotic Lovers and Artificial Companions, we played with where our sexual interest in the artificial—robots, dolls software, and the like—might lead in the very near future.
But any thought experiments about what might be coming to human sexuality has to delve into the human as well as the manufactured.
Because it is what we could become that could be truly remarkable, both in regards to erotic enjoyment but also in what it means to be human.
Sex and Augmented Reality: Part 1 — What Is AR?
Virtual reality has certainly—and loudly—arrived, making a huge splash in everything from gaming to sexual entertainment.
But while it will no doubt add a new, vivid dimension to how many people experience all kinds of pleasures, there’s another form of immersive technology that promises to give a quality that virtual reality lacks.
Namely reality itself.
#
Sex and Augmented Reality: Part 2 —The Erotic Fun Begins!
In our previous article, Sex and Augmented Reality: Part 1 — What Is AR?, we had a rather quick crash-course in what AR is, how it’s different that virtual reality, and some teases of what it could mean in regards to sex.
Now it’s time to explore that erotic potential in much more detail—and see how the power of augmented reality lies not just in replacing reality but in illuminating what we hadn’t been able to see before.

TWO New FutureOfSex Pieces Are Up!
The incredible fun I'm having writing for FutureOSex continues - with two band new pieces live at their great site. Here are some teases:
A Guide to Viewing Virtual Reality Sex Videos: The Hardware
Here’s how to quickly and affordably enjoy immersive sex.
Inarguably, virtual reality—that science-fiction mainstay of the 90s—has gone from being a far off dream to an actual product currently sold in stores in the space of only a few years.
Naturally—human beings being who we are—it wasn’t long before developers saw this three-dimensional technology in entertainment and thought sex!
But it’s really the announcement from PornHub, a giant of adult entertainment, that it will now feature a catalog of virtual reality movies, that’s getting many people really excited about this change in viewing adult entertainment.
A Guide to Viewing Virtual Reality Sex Videos: The Software
Including adult games and virtual erotic worlds.
Following our previous installment guide to virtual reality hardware, you’ve got your rig all set—high-end or Cardboard, whatever suits your needs or budget—so where do you go from here?
More precisely, where do you go to have that immersive erotic experience you’ve heard so much about?

THREE New FutureOfSex Pieces Are Up!
I really, really, really love writing for the folks at Future Of Sex. In fact not one, not two, but three new pieces of mine are now live on their site. Here are some teases:
Nanotech Engineers Developing Condoms As ‘Thin As a Human Hair’
Plant nano-additives could improve latex while maintaining durability.
The Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at the University of Queensland has announced the development of an ultra-thin latex made from a native grass called spinifex.
Professor Darren Martin of AIBN said this new material shows great promise in creating condoms with the same strength as existing latex brands but that are considerably thinner—and thus much more comfortable to wear.
“We think we can engineer a latex condom that’s about 30% thinner, and will still pass all standards, and with more process optimisation work we will be able to make devices even thinner than this,” he said in a press release.
Ghosts in Our Shells: What Anime Can Teach Us about the Future of Sex
Cyborgs, virtual reality, and more.
Japanese animation, anime as it is frequently called, has a long tradition of exploring humankind’s relationship with technology—including times when that relationship goes beyond intimate and into the obviously erotic.
In fact, if you look at any future speculations in anime, with regards to sexuality and technology, you’ll find not just that anime has delved into it but with a remarkably thorough and thoughtful approach.
While we know that an anime otaku (“fanboy” to use the Western meaning and not the literal Japanese translation) can more than likely come up with several others, here are just a few choice examples of anime’s future conjectures: virtual reality (.hack//SIGN), augmented reality (Dennō Coil), prosthetic limb replacement (Texhnolyze), artificial intelligence (Ergo Proxy), transgenderism (Shangri-La), robotics (Astroboy —one of the very first anime series), and many others.
But there’s one anime franchise that has touched on each of these, and done it in ways that show what could very well be the future of not just sexuality, but the very future of humanity itself.
Loving in a Tiny World: How Long-Distance Sexual Relationships Are Finally Working
Gaps between lovers are shrinking as our planet becomes more intimate.
Let’s start with a cliché: the world is getting smaller.
It hasn’t, of course, in actual fact: the Earth is still basically the same size it’s always been. For many people, though, communicating almost instantly with those living at even its farthest corners has not just become possible but an everyday occurrence.
Until a few years ago, the idea of a long-distance relationship was a synonym for “it’s over.” But now we almost take for granted the idea that distance has become almost inconsequential, even in regards to romance—and especially sex.
So how exactly has this changed? And what are the tools—here now or coming soon—that will reduce the world even more, as well as bring us a new level of sexual intimacy?

Two New Pieces For FutureOfSex!
Okay, I've said it before - but it's always worth repeating: I am having a serious kick writing for the great folks at Future Of Sex. In fact, two brand new pieces of mine just went live there.
Retrofuturist Sex: How the Past Thought We’d Be Loving in the Future
How did people in the 70s and 80s think we’d be having sex today?
We’ve always been fascinated by what could be: looking at the present and thinking, “If this keeps up what’s tomorrow going to be like?” And, naturally, more than a few people have gazed off toward the horizon and thought to themselves, “If sex is like it is now, what could it be like in a few years… or a few hundred years?”
Lots of folks love to see what the past thought the future would become, otherwise known as Retrofuturism. The great Matt Novak at PaleoFuture has done great legwork compiling not just what people tried to predict for technology and society, but also for sex.
So we at Future of Sex thought it could be fun to look at some of these past projections and see which ones were wildly wrong—or even close to being right.
Check out these teasers below:

Crowdfunding for VR Sex Game Controller Relaunched After Overwhelming Demand
A case of sex tech that isn’t just popular, but surprisingly so.
Crowdfunding, as anyone who has experience in it will say, often attracts more failure than success. In fact, The Crowdfunding Centre has reported that, depending on the platform, failure rates can be as high as 89%.
But in the case of virtual reality game controller VirtuaDolls, an unexpected and high demand for the sex device forced its developer, William Spracklin of Eos Creative Group, to pause his Indiegogo campaign so he could regroup.
VirtuaDolls is an interactive and artificial vagina. When coupled with the 3D-animated game Girls of Arcadia, the campaign page claims it will take immersion and adult gaming to a whole new level.

Two New Pieces For Future Of Sex!
I really do enjoy writing for Future Of Sex ... and, as proof of that, two new pieces of mine just went live there.
Here are some teasers (and links to the full articles):
4 Ways Tech Is Changing the Language of Love
How we talk about sex—now and in the future.
“The limits of my language means the limits of my world.” -Ludwig Wittgenstein
There’s always been an unspoken vocabulary of caresses, glances, and sounds, of course. But we’re in the 21st century now, and our technological options for expressing desire—over vast distances and across what used to be cultural barriers—has (to use a silly double-entendre) swelled incredibly.
We don’t just have new ways to correspond with each other but entirely new languages to play with. Lovers, or just playmates, can flirt, be titillating, or even directly stimulate each other speaking or typing a single word.
So, with a touch of irony, here’s a list of four ways that technology is changing the language of love and desire, but also how the nature of sexual communication is being totally reinvented.

Creating Your Own Pleasuredome: Modular Building and Smart Home Technology
Custom designing an erotic home and playground.
Recently, we looked at some possible changes to how we all may be living and playing, at home or elsewhere.
Love hotels for when sex needs a bit more room than microhomes can offer, as well as virtual and augmented reality to give the illusion of space, are certainly intriguing ideas. But there are more innovations in interactive tech and flexible design that will alter our houses of the future
So what happens when we take the concepts of modular construction and smart home technology and do a bit of future-casting?
Let’s rev up our imaginations and try to picture our sensual, and sexual, residences of the next century.

Two New Pieces Up At Future Of Sex!
Very cool: not just one but two of pieces of mine are live at FutureOFSex! Check them out:
Man with ‘Bionic Penis’ to Have Sex for the First Time
When he was six years old, Mohammed Abad, 43, a resident of Glasgow, Scotland, was involved in a horrific car accident resulting in the loss of his genitals.
In 2012, he was equipped with an artificial penis, though it was non-functioning at that time. A total of 119 operations later, University College London doctors now say that Abad can have sexual intercourse thanks to bionic technology.

Sex Tech at CES 2016: Erotic Innovations Aplenty
One of the key places for developers to show off their new tech products is at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. This year’s event, which ran from January 5 to 8, was particularly interesting for those intrigued by sexual technology. On display weren’t just exciting new devices, but also a new acceptance for adult sex and wellness product

New At Future Of Sex: Sensual Technology - How Sex Tech Is Becoming All Kinds of Pleasurable
More, more, more fun at Future Of Sex: my new article on sensual technology just went live. Here's a tease!
Sensual Technology: How Sex Tech Is Becoming All Kinds of Pleasurable
We really love technology—in all kinds of ways.
We’ve always been smitten with technology: at least for as long as it’s been around. But now our devices aren’t just handy but are becoming actually, aesthetically, sexy.
Just ask any serious gear aficionado: it’s like they’re aroused not just by what their devices can do but how beautiful they are.
But what’s coming soon in sex tech—the perfect melding of erotic stimulation and arousing aesthetics—is really going to turn you on.

Form follows function… or function follows form?
Human nature, I guess: as soon as anyone invents anything, the next generation of it gets sexy. Locomotives, at first, were steamy, clanking, greasy monstrosities. Sure, they got Victorians from point A to point B, but soon they were brightly colored, filigreed, and satin lined, as well as efficient.
In the following century or so, designers had become celebrities, and their technology lusted after for its sensual appeal and function. Raymond Loewy, for example, applied his own particular style of organic streamlining to everything from airplanes to the already mentioned locomotives.
In the 60s and 70s, German industrial designer Luigi Colani took the pleasure and sensual aesthetic of those decades into engineering. While the functionality of some of his designs for cars, trains, ships, and such is a matter of debate, you have to admit that his creations have a very arousing appeal.
But designers these days are really taking the idea of sensual technology to heart. Products are often not just functionally a turn-on but are sensual as well.
Sex tech as sexy tech
Obviously, we are seeing a lot of progress towards pure sensual technology: the melding of being turned on with and turned on by sexuality devices.
Many developers have even used the idea of sensual technology in their marketing materials as well as their design aesthetic. Co-founder/designer Ti Chang of CRAVE, an adult pleasure device, said, “If anything deserves good design, it’s the things we bring to bed with us.”
Many sex tech products mentioned here on Future of Sex reflect that concept. The Kiiroo smart vibrator isn’t just pleasant to use, but also pleasurable to look at. The OH-DOMETER by OhMiBod is profoundly intimate, yet doesn’t look at all like hardware.
With developers and designers totally embracing the idea that sex tech should appeal to the eyes and mind, as well as the body and “naughty bits,” we are seeing technology that is a perfect melding of mechanical elegance, sensuality, and practically seamless interactivity.
The question then is what’s next?

New At Future Of Sex: Getting to First Base in Second Life - A Virtually Fun Guide to Virtual Sex
The fun at FutureOfSex keeps coming! My brand new article on (ahem) scoring in Second Life just went live.
Check out this tease:
Getting to First Base in Second Life: A Virtually Fun Guide to Virtual Sex
Tools, tricks, and techniques to having a sexy time in the virtual world.
Despite being created back in the sticks and stones era of (gasp) 2003, Second Life has remained a virtual second home to over one million users.
For many of its fans, Second Life’s allure is all about freedom. With pretty tolerant owners, Linden Research, Inc., and a robust and wildly various modding community, Second Life has become anything for anyone.
Especially in regards to sexuality.
While there are other MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) experiences available that are specifically designed for virtual sex play—such as 3DXChat [NSFW], Red Light Center [NSFW], and Chathouse 3D Roulette [NSFW] (all reviewed here on Future of Sex)—Second Life still remains one of the most preferred domains for digital erotic entertainment.
In addition to the already mentioned, almost unlimited freedom of creation, Second Life’s sex appeal also stems from its affordability—for basic membership, though add-ons and such will cost you—plus having the ability to bounce from adult play to non-adult play with a mouse click.
For first-timers, though, Second Life may appear a bit daunting. It’s vast artificial reality universe is easy to get lost in, and trying to decipher the social mores of avatars, alts, groups, and more can be daunting. So here is a brief intro on a few techniques and digital tools to help the virtually virginal (or at least not that experienced) have a sexy time in Second Life.
Use your imagination
Second Life is all about creativity. It’s a blank slate for anyone to create practically anything. Though blank slate also describes the default Second Life avatar, as when you first arrive you’ll be sans genitalia.
You can always do text or voice sex with someone in Second Life, but as the virtual playground is so wonderfully visual most elect to try to play using their avatars.
Unless you’re seriously into coding, you’ll need to equip yourself with the necessary equipment to have Second Life sex. Xcite! [NSFW] has an entire marketplace for all kinds of erotic Second Life additions, including nose rings for your avatar, bondage gear for your space, and all kinds of toys for virtual sex fun. Oh, and, of course, it offers the much-needed body parts for sex. It’s not the only provider of sexual equipment, though, so if you don’t like what it offers try looking around elsewhere.
Many of its avatar additions are wildly exaggerated—in ways that’ll make your digital head spin. As with life everywhere, a few will be turned off by these crazy genitals and such while others will find you the hottest thing in cyberspace. The good news is that you can change any aspect of your appearance at any time—so have fun experimenting.
Then there’s verification. The great openness of Second Life means that anyone can join, but many will not engage in virtual sex play with someone who may be underage. By verifying your account with a credit card you basically tell Second Life, and all its virtually sex residents, that you are old enough to play.

New At Future Of Sex: Johns Hopkins Plans 60 Penis Transplants for Injured Veterans
Check it out: a new piece I did for the great FutureOfSex just went live. Here's a teaser - for the rest just click here.
Johns Hopkins Plans 60 Penis Transplants for Injured Veterans
With almost daily technological developments in sex tech, it’s important not to overlook innovations that are not hardware or software—but rather exist in the very intimate world of medicine.
Case in point: doctors Gerald Brandacher, W.P. Andrew Lee, and Richard J. Redett at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore are planning the first-ever penis transplant in the United States. It will be conducted in perhaps only a few months.
The operation will be performed on a wounded Afghanistan war veteran and, if all goes well, the patient should be able to have urinary function, feeling, and even the ability to eventually function sexually. Though doctors caution that total restoration, such as having the ability to father children, is unlikely at this time.
To date, two other attempts at penis transplants have taken place—with mixed results. The first was performed in 2006 in China and, unfortunately, was not a success.
However, another attempt in 2014 by professors Frank Graewe, André van der Merwe, and Rafique Moosa in Tygerberg Hospital, South Africa, did succeed—leading to the current project by Johns Hopkins.
Initially, the focus for the first attempt in the United States as well as plans for future transplants will be wounded soldiers.
Chairman of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins, Dr. W. P. Andrew Lee, said to The New York Times, “I think one would agree it is as devastating as anything that our wounded warriors suffer, for a young man to come home in his early 20s with the pelvic area completely destroyed.”

Did You See Me At CES?
Well, not me, per se, but rather a bit of my presence. You see, there's this very cool tech called b.sensory: teaming a vibrator with a special app. The way it works it that you read erotica and, as you enjoy, the app triggers certain ... actions in the sex toy.
The folks at b.sensory contacted me awhile ago to use a few samples of my work for their new product. Very cool, eh?
I've even written about the b.sensory for the great folks at FutureOfSex, and my name has come up in a few of the companies promo materials.
You can read about the b.sensory tech at places like The Next Web, engadget, Digital Trends, and other places.
And here's an except of my FutureOfSex piece on b.sensory:
“In my sex fantasy, nobody ever loves me for my mind.”
–Nora Ephron
Technologically speaking, writing sits in a very odd place. Sure, the typewriter, then the word processor, and now ebooks have totally changed the entire business of telling stories. But the end result is always the same.
Novel or story, saga or memoir, fiction or non; you pick it up—and read it. However, has anyone really contemplated adding anything more to the actual reading experience?
This is where French company B.Sensory comes in. With its Little Bird sex toy it’s developing an app (Android and iOS) that links ebook erotic stories and sex tech. This pairing aims to enhance the reader’s experience with all kinds of arousing vibrations, buzzes, and more.

Adding to the fun, the Little bird can be synched with audio books as well, meaning that it will be possible for some truly “hands-off” experiences with the technology.

New At FutureOfSex: The Adult Entertainment Technology We Lust After: Part 1 – Hardware
Check it out, another very, very fun piece I wrote for the great FutureOfSex folks just went live: The Adult Entertainment Technology We Lust After: Part 1 – Hardware!
There’s no denying that the last few years have seen flat out amazing developments in all sorts of technology, especially those of a (ahem) sexual nature.
Virtual reality alone has gone from a clumsy, bulky near-joke to a rapidly rising star moving toward common acceptance. You know things are really happening when one year it’s the medium-sized-but-eager Oculus Rift and the next it’s the giant Sony with their own PlayStation VR.
Sex tech, though, has really been rocking on the hardware, where the mechanical meets the meat, so to speak. Teledildonics, like VR, used to be a pipedream—to use a silly sexual allusion. But coming very soon, the cyberpunk wet dreams of the 90s will no doubt be standard pieces of equipment for digital erotic explorers.
The state of the art… today
Just look at a few of these Future of Sex articles, which show how physical sexual technology has moved from blue-sky dreaming to some actual, functional prototypes:
–Ben Barnes reported on The Teslasuit: a full-body “smart textile” garment that uses electromagnetic impulses to simulate all kinds of sensations such as “warm breeze, water submersion” and, best of all, human touch.
–Jenna Owsianik added an extra dimension to haptic possibilities, one that eradicates the need for cumbersome equipment like full-body suits. She introduced us to HaptoClone, which uses airborne ultrasound tactile display to give the illusion of physical contact with holograms
–Jenna also wrote about how Lovense, a sex tech manufacturer, is working with VirtualRealPorn [NSFW] , an adult entertainment website, to integrate videos and their haptic sex toys to allow users to “feel the performers’ movements from a first-person perspective.”
– I even contributed a bit to this, writing on B.Sensory’s merging of erotic literature with sex tech, adding an extra physical thrill to sexy stories.

New Article At FutureOfSex: Future Fetishes - Five Possible Sexual Kinks for the Next Century
I really, really, really like writing for the great folks at FutureOfSex - and they just posted a brand new piece on their fun site: my take on kinks of the future!
Here's a teaser - for the rest just click here.

Human beings, especially when it comes to sex, are pretty odd creatures. Unlike a lot of other species, we are often drawn to both the common and the rare.
It’s like a certain percentage of humanity says, on an unconscious level, I’ve never seen that before… and it really turns me on!
As homo sapiens continue our evolution into homo technologicus, we might one day see the eroticization of what we now consider commonplace. But for citizens of the next century, what we currently regard as banal will be unique and exotic.
So here is a playful look at what our descendants might become—and what they may find daringly, erotically outré.

It makes you look distinguished
As the possessor of (sigh) quite a few… shall we say “facial folds,” as well as having the lack of what used to be a long mane of dark hair, it’s alluring to think that as we learn more and more about the physical aging process, that sometime in the, hopefully, near future we’ll see wrinkles and gray hair as being fascinatingly unique.
While there may not be any huge breakthroughs yet, all it takes is a glance at history to see that, as a species, our lifespans are increasing at an incredible rate. Mostly due to better care, diet, education, and exercise, we have gone from a life expectancy of mid 60s (for men) and early 70s (for women) only 50 years ago, to where we are looking at breaking the 100 year mark in only the next generation.
As we push back the human biological clock farther and farther, it’s no great stretch of imagination to envision people being drawn to the rarity of physical old age.
Those with natural signs of it could be the adult entertainment stars of this niche genre—though others may very well cosmetically adopt wrinkles, gray hair, and all the rest the same way people today get breast implants, artificial tans, colored contact lenses, and the like.
And who knows, if a certain erotic writer can hang on long enough, he may very well become an adult entertainment celebrity. A man can dream…

New Article At FutureOfSex: Sex in 2115 - Biohacking Bodies and Turning Ourselves into Sexual Cyborgs
This is very, very, very cool: my brand new article just went live on the great FutureOfSex site.
Check out by thoughts on the genitals of the future here.
Welcome to Human Body 2.0
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the basic operations of both the new and improved physical structure as well as the operating system.
The first things you may have noticed are the major improvements to the physical sexual perimeters (i.e. the genitals). Don’t be alarmed. Rest assured that not only will they perform just like the previous versions, but they have been totally redesigned to improve just about every aspect of erotic pleasure.
Oh, and don’t forget to agree to the Terms and Conditions.
#
Predicting the future is, at best, hit and miss; mostly a lot of misses to a very few hits.
But that’s never stopped me before. So, after looking at a few of the remarkable innovations that have recently appeared, I’ve tried to speculate on the hot new bodies we all could be wearing in the next hundred or so years.
And, naturally, as this is Future of Sex, I’ll be paying particular attention to the erotic fun all of us might be having with our new bodies.

Up Now @ FutureOFSex: Dressing for Tomorrow: How Designers Are Mixing Technology, Eroticism and Fashion
I am having a real blast writing for the great folks at FutureOfSex ... and I'm very pleased that a brand new piece just went live there.
Click here to read Dressing for Tomorrow: How Designers Are Mixing Technology, Eroticism and Fashion!
When not protecting the wearer against the weather—or in some cases other humans—clothing has always been about sex.
While materials came and went, the basic idea of fashion has stuck around. From power ties to high heels, corsets to tuxedos, jockeys to hot pants, we’ve forever been trying to accentuate, or downplay, certain parts of our anatomy.
But now it looks like things will really be changing. Frequently using what is called intelligent clothing or e-textiles, a few innovative designers are exploring wild new territories—and perhaps giving us a glimpse of the erotic fashions for the next century.
Anouk Wipprecht
To put it overly simple, technology plus fashion, plus sensuality, equals Dutch designer Anouk Wipprecht.
One of her designs called the ParticleDress, embraces the open-source movement: where all kinds of technologies are being made available for anyone to tweak or play with.
Basically, she created a 3D printed framework/garment that supports a standardized hexagonal ‘module’—then she reached out to creative people all over the world, inviting them to design their very own modules to be attached to the dress. The final selection of these submissions then made it into the final design, unveiled at the San Francisco Maker Faire in May of this year.

Up Now @ FutureOFSex: The Sexual Future of 2015 - What Sci-Fi Movies and Books Got Wrong… and Right
I'm having a serious blast writing for the great folks at FutureOfSex- and a brand new post of mine just went live!
Check out The Sexual Future of 2015: What Sci-Fi Movies and Books Got Wrong… and Right!
It was a fun to write and (hopefully) just as fun to read!
Today may not be the future these works envisioned, but maybe it’s still to come?
Science fiction has never really strived to be prophetic. Mostly the genre has used speculation to draw attention to social issues of the day; a funhouse mirror held up to mankind.
And when it has tried to gaze into a crystal ball, sci-fi’s track record is more than a bit lacking—to be polite.
Especially in regards to the future of sexuality.
Now that we are actually living in 2015—and with 2016 right around the corner—it’s fun to look at some notable books and films that tried to envision what sex would be like in the future. In other words, right this very minute.
A lot of things turned out to be flat out wrong. But what’s even more intriguing—and even more than a bit chilling—is what they actually may have gotten right.
If not this year but very, very soon.

My New FutureOfSex Essay Is Live! 5 Sex Technologies From Sci-Fi Movies That Are Right Around The Corner
Now this is very exciting! My new article for FutureOfSex just went up on their very fun site. Click here to read 5 Sex Technologies From Sci-Fi Movies That Are Right Around The Corner!
Spaceships, aliens, robots—we all love a good science fiction film. But aside from a few lucky guesses on the filmmakers’ parts, we rarely think of them as being truly prophetic.
Especially when it comes to their depictions of futuristic sex.
However, with new developments in pharmacology, virtual reality, robotics, telepresence, and artificial intelligence, more than a few classic, and sort of classic,science-fiction films are getting very close to erotic reality.
Here is a subjective look at five science-fiction films where their depictions of futuristic sex are fast-becoming less cinematic fantasy and more everyday sexual reality.

Up Now: 5 Science-Fiction Novels That Pushed The Limits of Sexuality On FutureOfSex!
This is very, very cool: my grand new article 5 Science-Fiction Novels That Pushed The Limits of Sexuality just went live on the excellent FutureOfSex site!
Here's a tease - for the rest click here.
Erotic visions of the future from renowned sci-fi literature.
Like a lot of genres, science fiction took a bit of time to discover that one special, yet very basic, component of humanity.
Yes, I’m talking about sex.
But unlike mystery, horror, romance, thriller—and every flavor of literature you can name—when these science fiction authors explored eroticism, it didn’t just change that genre. Using visions of the future, they changed the way many people came to look at sex itself.
While there are many writers working today who are exploring sexuality in science fiction (hint, hint), here are five works that I personally feel went way above and far beyond the known limits of both sex and science fiction.
Oh, and be prepared for some very minor plot spoilers—but I promise not to give too much away.
